Sorry to say, this is not a not-for-profit outfit in the classic sense. Thus, donations are not tax-deductible. The $5 donation goes toward the annual amount I need to pay EZBOARD in order to keep the advertising off these boards. Advertising is very distracting and causes LOTS of complaints from fellow board members.

The cost to keep the advertising away is dependent on how much BANDWIDTH we use, and that includes numbers of posts, and more importantly: the use of graphics in the posts.

The good thing is, we have some might generous members on these boards, which helps keep us ad free and using graphics to our hearts content.

Casals K used to get perturbed about the costs of using graphics in our posts. That's why she would break chops about using to many emoticons.

I figure, as long as we all use them responsibly, over the long haul, it'll be a little more, but the post will be a LOT more fun and unique. Plus, many of us can, thank G-D, pay our way if needed.
